This article explains our Privacy Policy in everyday language. The full, legally authoritative Privacy Policy is at /privacy. If there is any conflict between this summary and the full Policy, the full Policy governs.
Data We Collect
We collect two categories of data: what you provide directly and what we collect automatically.
Data you provide:
- Account registration information: your name, email address, and password (stored as a bcrypt hash)
- Your security PIN (also stored as a bcrypt hash — we never see the actual value)
- Debtor monitoring configurations: debtor name, state, type, and any optional context you enter
- Billing information handled by Stripe — we receive only a Stripe Customer ID and subscription status, never your raw card data
Data we collect automatically:
- Session tokens and login timestamps (for security and authentication)
- IP addresses at login (for security monitoring)
- Usage and feature interaction logs (for diagnosing issues and improving the product)
- Public record data retrieved on your behalf during sweeps, stored as your alert history
For a more detailed breakdown, see What Data Do We Collect?
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used for the following purposes:
- Service delivery — running your debtor monitoring sweeps, generating alerts, maintaining your account
- Alert notifications — sending you email digest alerts when a sweep finds something new
- Billing — verifying subscription status and processing payments through Stripe
- Security — detecting suspicious login activity, preventing unauthorized access
- Service improvement — understanding how the product is used so we can make it better
We do not use your data to serve you third-party advertising. We do not sell your personal information.
Who We Share Data With
We share data with a small number of service providers who are necessary to operate the service:
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe receives your billing information directly and handles all payment data. Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified.
- Railway — infrastructure and database hosting. Your data is stored on Railway's platform with encrypted storage.
- Google Analytics — we use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate usage patterns. Analytics data is anonymized and does not include your debtor monitoring configurations or alert history.
We do not share your data with data brokers, marketing companies, or any party for commercial purposes beyond operating the service. We do not share your debtor monitoring data with other users.
Data Retention
Your account data — including your debtor configurations and alert history — is retained for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription and close your account, your data is deleted in accordance with our retention schedule as described in the full Privacy Policy at /privacy.
If you would like your data deleted before that, contact us at Support@TrackMyDebtor.com and we will process your request.
Your Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal data. In plain terms:
- Access — you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction — you can correct inaccurate account information directly in your account settings, or by contacting support
- Deletion — you can request deletion of your account and associated data
- Objection or restriction — in some cases you may have the right to object to or restrict processing of your data
To exercise any of these rights, contact Support@TrackMyDebtor.com. We respond to verifiable requests promptly.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies:
- Session cookie — a secure, HTTP-only cookie that keeps you logged in. It expires when your session ends or after a set period of inactivity.
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics sets cookies to understand aggregate usage patterns. These do not contain your personal information or debtor data.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party marketing cookies of any kind.
Children's Privacy
TrackMyDebtor.com is not directed at anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, contact Support@TrackMyDebtor.com and we will delete it promptly.
