Before You Remove: Consider Pausing
Removing a debtor is permanent — their record, all alert history, and all sweep data are deleted immediately and cannot be recovered. If there's any chance you'll want this data later, pause monitoring instead. A paused debtor:
- Stays visible in your debtor list (clearly marked "Paused")
- Retains all past alert history and reports
- Stops counting toward your active seat bill
- Can be resumed at any time with one click
Removal should be reserved for cases where you're certain you no longer need the record: a fully satisfied judgment, a duplicate entry, or an entry added in error.
Removal is permanent. There is no archive, recycle bin, or recovery option. Once a debtor is removed, all their alerts, sweep history, and configuration are gone. Export or note anything important before deleting.
How to Remove a Debtor
-
Open the debtor's reportFrom your debtor list, click the debtor's name or "View Report" to open their monitoring report page.
-
Find the Remove optionLook for a "Remove Debtor" button or option, typically in the report header or an actions menu (three-dot icon). This is distinct from the Pause toggle.
-
Read the confirmation prompt carefullyA confirmation dialog will appear listing exactly what will be deleted — the debtor name, alert count, and a warning that the action is irreversible. Read it before proceeding.
-
Enter your security PINDestructive account actions require your 6-digit PIN. This prevents accidental deletions and unauthorized removals.
-
Confirm removalClick "Remove Debtor" in the confirmation prompt. The debtor is deleted immediately. Your active seat count decreases by one.
What Gets Deleted vs. What's Preserved
Billing After Removal
When you remove a debtor, that seat is released from your subscription. Your active debtor count decreases by one, and your next invoice will be billed at the lower quantity. You will not receive a prorated credit for the current billing period — charges already assessed are not reversed when a debtor is removed mid-cycle.
If removing this debtor brings your active count to zero, your subscription remains active (at the base plan rate if applicable). If you want to cancel your subscription entirely, that's handled separately in Account Settings → Cancel Subscription.
If you have important alert history you want to keep for your records (like property addresses or court case numbers that surfaced during monitoring), screenshot the debtor's report before removing. Email alerts already delivered to your inbox also remain there regardless of what you do in the app.
Re-Adding a Debtor After Removal
If you remove a debtor and later want to track them again, you can re-add them as a new debtor at any time. A fresh debtor entry starts with no alert history — previous sweep data cannot be restored. Click Start Monitoring on the new entry to begin 24/7 monitoring immediately, or trigger a manual sweep for an instant on-demand scan.
