Where to Find the Sign-Out Option

The sign-out button is accessible from two places in your account:

  • Dashboard menu — Look for your account name or avatar in the top-right corner of the dashboard. Click it to open a dropdown menu that includes a Sign Out option.
  • Account Settings — Navigate to Account Settings from the dashboard. A sign-out option is available there as well.

How to Sign Out

  1. 1
    Click your account menu

In the top-right corner of the dashboard, click your name or account icon to open the account dropdown.

  2. 2
    Select "Sign Out"

Click Sign Out from the menu. No confirmation prompt is required — the action is immediate.

  3. 3
You're redirected to the login page

After signing out, you're automatically redirected to the login page. Your session token is invalidated server-side — simply closing the browser tab does not achieve the same result.

What Happens When You Sign Out

Signing out does the following:

  • Your session token is invalidated. The server marks your current session as ended. Even if someone has the old session cookie, it will be rejected on the next request.
  • You're redirected to the login page. The browser is taken to /login automatically.
  • The browser no longer has an active session. Subsequent visits to any protected page will redirect to the login screen.

Importantly, signing out has no effect whatsoever on your account data:

  • Your debtors remain monitored
  • Your alert history is preserved
  • Your subscription continues uninterrupted
  • 24/7 nonstop monitoring continues normally

Session Persistence

If you don't sign out, your session may persist across browser visits depending on your browser's cookie handling and the session's configured duration. This means returning to the site on the same browser — even after closing it and reopening — may restore you to a logged-in state without requiring your password again.

This is convenient on your personal devices but is a security risk on shared or public computers. Always sign out explicitly when using a device that others may access.

Shared or Public Devices — Best Practices

TrackMyDebtor accounts contain sensitive judgment data. On shared, public, or borrowed devices:

  • Always sign out explicitly using the Sign Out option — do not just close the tab or window.
  • Clear browser cookies and cache after signing out for an additional layer of protection. In most browsers: Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → Cookies and cached images.
  • Use a private/incognito window when accessing your account on a shared device. Incognito sessions discard cookies when the window is closed, reducing the risk of session persistence.
  • Avoid saving your password in the browser's built-in password manager on devices you don't own.
Shared devices

Closing the browser tab is not the same as signing out. On a shared device, always use the Sign Out option to ensure your session is terminated properly before walking away.

Signed In on Multiple Devices

TrackMyDebtor supports concurrent sessions — you can be logged in on your desktop browser, your laptop, and your phone simultaneously. Each device maintains its own independent session.

Signing out on one device does not sign you out on others. If you need to end sessions on multiple devices (for example, after suspecting unauthorized access), you must sign out on each device separately, or contact support for assistance terminating all active sessions.

Signing Back In

After signing out, you can log back in at any time by visiting trackmydebtor.com/login and entering your email address and password. Your account, data, and debtors will all be exactly as you left them — sign-out only ends the browser session.

Tip

If you're on a personal device you trust, staying signed in is fine and convenient. Save the explicit sign-out step for shared machines, office computers, or any device that multiple people use.
